‘It’s Childsplay’ – a new event for Weston
supporting the Children’s Hospice South West,
with their hospices at Charlton Farm, Wraxall in
North Somerset and Little Bridge House,
Barnstaple in North Devon.
This important regional charity is dedicated to
making the most of short and precious lives. It
provides support and hospice care for life limited
children and their families throughout the South
West. The charity has running costs of £6million
per year, with only 5% coming from public
funds.
The Event: The participants can determine where
they start, how far they can walk, with whom
they walk; so anyone can take part.
There will be at least ten separate ‘It’s Childsplay’
events taking place on the same day throughout
Somerset, North Devon and Dorset, with each
event selecting the hospice they wish to support.
The aim is to better last year’s achievement of
collecting £20,000 for children’s hospice charities
in the South West.
Taking Part: It’s so simple and easy, choose both
where to start from and at what time; arriving at
the finishing point on the Beach Lawns between
noon and 5:00pm.
Take part as an individual or as part of a team;
family, friends and/or work colleagues.
Local businesses, why not create your own team?
To assist there will be a number of organised
starting points/times around the town – with
walks varying in length from one to four miles,
these are only suggestions please feel free to use
a start point and time of your own choosing.
11:00am • The Campus, behind Morrisons (4)
• Ashcombe Park, upper area (2)
Noon • Hutton Moor Leisure Centre (2)
• The Walnut Tree, Oldmixon (21⁄2)
1:00pm • Grove Park, upper area (1)
• Beach Lawns - (1⁄2 mile loop)
Pledging to raise a minimum of £10 (more would
be nice) by sponsorship and you will receive an
‘It’s Childsplay’ T-shirt to wear on the day.
We would ask people wishing to take part to
register on the event’s website, this will allow us
to get your T-shirt(s) to you before the day.
Registration will be possible on the day at any of
the ‘official’ starting points and the collection of
T-shirt(s) then, subject to availability.

Business Breakfast
"The Economy and How to Respond to Recession"
Friday 27th March 2009, 8am - 10am
Rookery Manor, Nr Weston-super-Mare
Are you worried about how the current economic crisis will affect your business?
Following on from the success of the last business breakfast, we have decided to continue with a financial theme for our next event as it is a subject which few businesses are able to ignore at the present time.
At the last event in November, Geoff Harding from the Bank of England outlined the bank's outlook on the economy. This time Burroughs Day Solicitors, Weston Chamber of Commerce and the North Somerset Enterprise Agency have invited John Penrose, MP for Weston-super-Mare and Shadow Minister for Business, to give his view.
John will outline his view on the current financial crisis and offer guidance on how businesses should be responding to the recession to ensure they stay healthy and prosperous through difficult times ahead.
This is a free event for all business people in the area.
To reserve a place, register online at www.bd4law.com/events. Alternatively you can call Eleanor Rendell on 0117 929 0333.
Registration is at 8:00am after which you will have the chance to meet and talk to other delegates before taking your seat for your choice of a full English or Continental breakfast at 8:30am John will begin at 9:00am.
I hope that you are able to join us.
Yours sincerely
Martin Ryan, Partner, Burroughs Day Solicitors

There will be space for display stands, and a table will be provided for each organisation if one is required. Details concerning parking and a location map will be provided before the event.
There is no charge for employers attending the Jobsfair.

Cowardice asks the question - is it safe?
Expediency asks the question - is it politic?
Vanity asks the question - is it popular?
But conscience asks the question - is it right?
And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular; but one must take it because it is right.

| Naturopathic Iridology Workshop |
|

Iridology is the art of reading the eyes. It is quick, non-invasive, accurate, painless and safe. The eyes hold a record of what is happening within the body. There are problems that can be swiftly pin pointed with the aid of iridology; these can be difficult to test for by conventional medicine, such as the condition of the stomach, intestines, colon and lymphatic system. Because changes appear in the iris before physical symptoms develop, preventative action can be taken to safeguard and improve each person's health. Learn about this fascinating technique and naturopathic ways of applying safe, simple and often cost free methods to protect your health. Completion certificate with CPD points. I also offer comprehensive private three hour consultations. See http://www.adayofenlightenment.com for further details.

| Lightworkers Unite |
| I would like to give you two websites which are well worth checking out if you have any interest in Lightworking. The first one is Fountain International http://www.fountain-international.org which is based on a simple idea - that communities, like people, suffer from disease and can be healed. Everyone can be involved and help to heal the world. There is a wonderful and very powerful meditation that you can use on that site. The second website is http://www.firethegrid.com which I will leave you to explore for yourself. |
| Chain eMails |
| I have decided that it is time for me to speak out on these time wasting chain emails. Now I remember the days before email when this sort of thing was sent via the post and many were worried by the threats spouted if the chain was broken. I had no problem whatsoever in tearing this rubbish up for anyone too frightened to do it themselves. Now it is time for me to tackle this type of email, before you send anything on please Google Snopes or urban myths and check it out. Better still if you would like a brilliant tirade penned by Billy Connolly about this let me know and I will send it to you, but please bear in mind that Billy has quite a turn of phrase.
I also have no wish to send you unwanted emails so if you wish to be removed from mine just click SafeUnsubscribe below and your email address will be taken off the list with immediate effect. |
